“My Journey through Breast Cancer: A Story of Faith”

Faith Fancher

Faith Fancher is an Emmy-winning television news reporter on KTVU/Fox Channel 2 and a breast cancer survivor. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997, she made the courageous decision to share her journey through treatment with her viewers. This series, called “Faith's Story,” won first place in the American Medical Association International Film Competitions.
Since her original diagnosis Ms. Fancher has fought through two recurrences, and still is deeply involved in raising awareness about breast cancer detection and treatment. She founded “Friends of Faith,” an organization that provides small grants to local organizations that fight breast cancer. Ms. Fancher's work in the breast cancer field has garnered her many distinguished awards including the Excalibur Award for breast cancer advocacy from the American Cancer Society and a special citation from the Board of Governors for the Emmys.
Ms. Fancher is currently contributing to breast cancer research by participating in a clinical trial of the combination of herceptin and navelbine for treating breast cancer.
